We are currently recruiting a Relief Instructor Supervisor to support our service users in their day service to ensure that through their individual choices they live the life of their choosing. The days and hours of work will be assigned to you by your manager in line with service needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Leaving certificate.
  • QQI Level 6 Qualification in Disability Studies, Healthcare or similar and/or
  • QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer
  • A full clean Irish/EU Driving Licence.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 6 months working in a similar role working with adults with an intellectual disability.
  • A high level of IT and administrative skills.
  • A commitment to caring and an empathetic understanding of those with an intellectual disability is an essential attribute.
  • Excellent people skills, flexibility and experience in a complex changing work environment.

We are currently recruiting for a General Manager who will be responsible for both the strategic and operational management of MooreHaven Centre.

The MooreHaven Centre was founded in 1981 to provide a day service for adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. Service Users attend from within a 30-mile radius of Tipperary Town, in counties Tipperary and Limerick, and have grown from an initial 4 in 1981 to 111 today. The Centre is an integral part of Tipperary and employs up to 75 full- and part-time skilled service providers. Funding is provided by the HSE under Section 39 of the Health Act 2004 and from MooreHaven’s fundraising and supporters.

Services provided have grown significantly over the years and now encompass Day Activation, Supported Work/Employment, Day Services, Training Programmes, and HIQA-registered Residential & Respite facilities.

Our Mission is to support adults with an intellectual disability to enable them develop to their full potential through our Day and Residential Services. We promote and support personal development, independent living, community integration and work opportunities for our Service Users.

The Role

The General Manager will provide strong values-based leadership to effectively manage MooreHaven’s staff and other resources to ensure all activities are focused on the Centre’s mission and objectives and delivery of its Strategic and Operating Plans as set out by the Board.

We are recruiting a 1:1 Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a number of service users who attend the MooreHaven Centre Day Service.

They will support a number of service users in their Day Service Programme to become as independent as possible in daily life-skills, working on individual programmes and goals as identified through the PCP process and with a multi-disciplinary approach.

The person appointed to the post should be flexible in their approach to service provision & should have the ability to work as a member of a team.  They will be required to take an active part in ensuring that the needs of the service user(s) are being met.

The person appointed will be working on their own with support provided by the Senior Supervisor & Day Services Manager.

This is a multi-faceted role in that the support worker will also from time to time have to assist the instructor with the supervision of other service users and support them in their class activity.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum QQI Level 5 In Health / Social Care or equivalent
  • Excellent Report Writing & IT Skills
  • A full clean Irish/EU Driving Licence is essential.
  • Knowledge of New Directions

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with and supporting adults in an intellectual disability setting.
  • Experience of facilitating and implementing Person Centred Plans.
  • Experience of working with persons with behaviours that challenge
  • Programme facilitation skills an advantage
