Day Service

TrainingThe Training Programme is a 2.5 year foundation skills programme with desired outcomes as follows:

  • QQI Certification

  • Health & Social Gain & Independent Living Skills

  • Further Training

  • Supported/Open Employment

The following modules are available to Service Users on the Training Programme:

  • Lifeskills – Personal Development, Independent Living Skills, Social & Communication Skills, Sports & Leisure Activities

  • Horticulture

  • Woodwork

  • Workskills/Work Experience

  • Information & Communications Technology

day activationA selection of Modular Work & Activities are offered under these programmes. These modules and activities include:

  • Social & Communication Skills

  • Workskills/Work Experience

  • Woodwork

  • Everyday Living Skills

  • Personal Development

  • Health and Well being

Training and day programmes are delivered using a person centred approach with certification provided by QQI.

Supported ActivitiesAll Service Users can avail of the many supported activities that are available in our Garden Centre, Sewing, Woodwork & Canteen areas. Throughout the Centre and within the local Community, there are many other activities available, such as;

  • Reflexology

  • Arts & Crafts

  • Cooking

  • Knitting

  • Bocci

  • Soccer

  • Jewellery Making

  • Singing

  • Photography

  • Computers

  • Reception Training

  • Counselling

  • Swimming

Job CentreIn MooreHaven, we have 2 Job Coaches, whose roles are to prepare Service Users for Work Experience and support them to access:

  • Further education

  • Work Experience within & outside the Centre

  • Paid Employment/Supported Employment

We try to match the person to the job and continue to support them so that they can build their skills while experiencing greater integration into the Community.

Thurles serviceThe MooreHaven Centre runs a one day service in TCIL, Thurles on Wednesdays – this day programme offers a number of different activities including cooking, arts & crafts, personal development and work experience.

From time to time guest speakers come into the Centre to give talks on a variety of subjects including smoothie making, how to care for your pet and basic first aid.

autismMooreHaven provides an Autism Support Service which is available to people on the Autism Spectrum.

It encourages Service Users to actively participate in the Community. Person Centred Programmes are provided which encourage Service Users grow and develop to their full potential.

Residential Service

Residential ServiceMooreHaven’s Residential & Respite Support Services are provided in four Community Homes within or in close proximity to Tipperary Town.

These Services provide a supervised home setting in an urban area close to all amenities.
